About Dan

Dan Dourson has been a wildlife biologist for nearly 30 years but it is safe to say that he has been an avid animal lover all his life.  His first words were "bad bug" likely due to the fact that he spent the first years of his young life in Hawaii where there were large palmetto bugs that his mom wanted him to avoid.  Even at a young age, Dan kept a menagerie of animals found in the area surrounding his rural subdivision including a pigeon aptly named "Pige", Racky, the racoon, snakes, salamanders, frogs, and turtles.
